Latest News From Our MTB Accommodation in Glyncorrwg

Except that were not in Glyncorrwg this weekend – or even Afan Forest Trails – or even Bike Park Wales.

We’re on a day out at the beach – at Kenfig Sands – near Porthcawl.

I wanted to show you all this though as it may be of interest to you extreme mountain-bikers that fancy something a bit different.

This is one of the largest areas of sand dunes in Europe and it’s only a short drive from Skyline House and the Trails up in the village.

As you can see in the pictures, some of these dunes are quite spectacular and mountainous.  And the beach is enormous when the tide goes out.

The whole area is riddled with bridleways, which means it’s legal for us MTB ers too.  And its so large that you hardly ever see anyone else around.

Obviously you’ll need to grease up your bearings to protect them from the sand – or bring your second best bikes!
